A smoking ban takes effect Feb. 1 in many Ann Arbor parks, including 73 with playgrounds and four downtown parks. The Ann Arbor News reports that the move comes nearly 10 months after the City Council approved an outdoor smoking ordinance empowering the city administrator to designate parks as smoke-free.
