An updated national strategy to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS in the next five years was released Thursday by the Obama administration, with some local organizations praising its focus on minorities and the Southern states, but others saying the goals don’t go far enough. The National HIV/AIDS Strategy , signed by President Barack Obama, includes 37 recommended actions to be completed by 2020 to reduce new HIV infections and help those who already have the virus find and receive consistent treatment.
