Nearly 2,000 Topekans race to fight breast cancer

That was the message sent by hundreds of runners and walkers Saturday morning who wound their way around a 5 kilometer course in the Washburn University area to raise money for the Race Against Breast Cancer, a local nonprofit. An estimated 1,900 people participated in the organization’s 23rd annual 5K event, Race Against Breast Cancer administrator Dawn Robertson said.
