About 4,500 county residents live at or below the federal poverty level in the Aspen area, and Pitkin County health officials are seeking options to help the area’s low-income families get the care they need. Members of the Roaring Fork Valley’s health care community told the county’s board of health few physicians in the Aspen area will accept public insurance.
