An elderly woman from the Pomona Valley is the first in Los Angeles County to die from the flu so far this season, public health officials said Monday, adding she had underlying medical conditions. “Even though we are well within flu season it’s not too late to get your flu vaccination,” Dr. Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, interim Health Officer for Los Angeles County’s Department of Public Health said in a statement.
